VOICE

Working with Natalie was a fantastic experience. She was always so patient, professional, and enthusiastic about my progress. My vocal technique grew exponentially working with Natalie, and gave me a confidence about my voice that I never thought I would have. With her help I was able to lay the groundwork for my career. Thank you so much!

If I were not a scientist or meteorologist, I would want to be on Broadway. In an effort to get me to that point “just in case” Natalie has been instrumental in helping me find and fine tune my instrument. What has helped for a far-fetched dream has also helped me day-to-day presentation on TV. Natalie’s demeanor and style of teaching will work with anyone but still push you to get to that next level, no matter what it is. Even if it is Broadway. Which, if anyone is reading this from Broadway, I feel like Moulin Rouge, Beauty and the Beast or Chicago feel right. I can make myself available.”

I first heard Natalie Tyson-Multhaup sing at Carnegie Hall. her singing is warm, inspired and elegant, like her.

I later cast her in a performance I was directing and at the first rehearsal, because I knew she was a teacher of both voice and yoga, asked her to lead a warm up in both. To see her do it was to experience the two as one. Knowing how rare that is, I became her voice student soon after.

Over the last 18 months I have found her lessons an ideal meeting of vocal and yoga work because her teaching opens the heart as well as the voice. It also opens your mind in that she has a deeply curious one and makes you curious about yourself as if you are someone you have just met.

On the journey, she explores your talent with experiments that take you down walls you didn’t know you had. She subtly critiques without criticizing. Instead, she mirrors you to yourself, so you repeat your discoveries organically the way a sunflower instinctively knows to tilt towards the sun.

I have sung in choirs all my life, but never took a proper voice lesson until I worked with Natalie. I was really nervous at first but she made me feel so comfortable! Natalie’ approach is super fun and lively and I was able to walk away feeling really confident in not only my voice, but in know that I now had the tools and practices I needed to continue my growth as a singer.

YOGA

Amazing way to start the morning. A relaxing, open level flow that did spike the heart rate a bit. great balance of flow, detoxifying poses, and stretching.

Through Natalie’s Classical Spotlight classes, I discovered the healing properties of yoga combined with classical music. The music, focusing on one composer each week. is thoughtfully selected to align with poses. I find my practice is enhanced while listening to these powerful, beautiful, and restorative pieces of music. Natalie is attentive and sensitive as an instructor and I always leave class with a sense of accomplishment. Thank you, Natalie for crafting this experience!
